RRVBC currently has an opening for a Hospital Services Tech - Blood
Product Distribution.Successful candidate will payclose attention to
detail, problem solve and exercise sound judgement to produce accurate
quality work.Position plays vital rolein ensuringhospitalblood
inventoryneeds are met for all blood products in atimely fashion
withinRRVBC\'s service area.Effective and prompt communication with
mangement regardingconcerns with overall inventory for any product type
is crucial tomeetingservice levelneeds.Incumbent works
closelywithinternal and external parties, including hospitals and blood
collection brokers/agencies to fill ordersandprovide safe high-value
blood products.\
\
Duties/Responsibilities\
- Communicate with service hospitals regarding their projected needs
as well as receiving and filling orders for blood components and
supplies.
- Directs the Hospital Services Couriers, volunteers, and staff to the
proper destinations.
- Arrange for pick up and delivery of products and supplies with an
outside courier service if needed.
- Performs secondary processes and bag label verification on blood
components.
- Performs special processes to blood components based on hospital
demand.
- Performs complete and accurate blood order, blood product, and
process entry into Blood Bank Control System.
- Performs QC and maintenance on department equipment.
- Maintains relationships with external customers to facilitate
marketing surplus products.
- Identifies, documents, and corrects problems that may adversely
affect the safety, purity and potency of all blood products.
- Assists Supervisor and other techs in all areas of the Hospital
Services Department.
- Obtains product samples to be run by lab on Hematology Analyzer.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some medical and/or college coursework preferred
Experience:
- One plus years experience in distribution, inventory, or customer
service field.
- Experience in medical field or blood banking industry preferred.
Experience Includes:
- Good distribution, inventory and product management skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving and
attention to detail skills.
- Good Microsoft Office and PC proficiency.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of quality control, cGMP, FDA, CLIA, and
industry regulations.
- Good technical, written and verbal skills.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
