       License and Certification Qualifications: Hold professional certification in content field specific to coaching assignment issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.Education Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a Professional Standards Commission (PSC) approved college of university required. Master's degree preferred.Experience Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement or behavioral skills by providing instruction and intervention in an elementary setting. Experience in developing intervention plans.Skills Qualifications: Knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum with in-depth knowledge of content in field of certification; ability to identify individual student learning gaps and provide effective instructional interventions leading to student achievement of AKS; knowledge of techniques for integrating curriculum, GCPS policies, and effective instructional practices; understand the teaching/learning process; ability to infuse technology into instruction to increase student learning; ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, and school based staff, students, parents, and community; excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills with the ability to create accurate and complete documentation; effective human relations skillsPrimary Responsibilities: Assist teachers, school administrators and other school personnel to: 1) Identify the foundational areas of weakness for individual students, 2) determine research-based interventions that meet the targeted learning gap or skill deficit, 3) set appropriate and adequate goals for student learning through instructional intervention, 4) determine the validated progress monitoring tools that will measure student growth resulting from the interventions, and 5) analyze ongoing data to make ongoing decisions about next steps for student progress. Provide thorough explanations and modeling as necessary for teachers and others on how to implement research based academic and behavioral interventions with fidelity. Provide training and multiple ways to track student progress and data. Observe implementation and providing coaching and support to teachers and others who are implementing the interventions. Connect students and families to external wrap around services as appropriate to address barriers that are impacting students' progress and development in school. Schedule current and follow-up support meetings involving all stakeholders to discuss student progress. Communicate effectively with school personnel regarding coverage for teachers for meetings.1. Provide the following school-wide support:a. Use data to help teachers identify and group students who need additional academic and/or behavioral supports to meet specific learning or behavior goals;b. Help teachers develop and implement developmentally appropriate and research-based interventions for individual students and groups of student to increase learning of the AKS, address learning gaps, skill deficits, and behavioral needs;c. Support teachers in documenting student progress;d. Plan, schedule and lead the Response to Intervention (RTI) and the Student Support Team (SST) process in coordination with the school administration, support staff, parents, and instructional staff;e. Gather and organize grade-level/subject area assessment tools and develop assessments for progress monitoring purposes for all teachers;f. Design collaborative systems to support the sharing of RTI best practices, including use of district-wide RTI system of record.2. Execute the following duties and responsibilities related to identified students in conjunction with the student’s assigned classroom teacher:a. Implement and track all intervention support for identified students;b. Design or identify systems and tools to measure the effectiveness of support;c. Refine intervention strategies and support as needed to improve effectiveness;d. Work with the special education coordinator, school psychologist and SST members to facilitate eligibility for special education, if applicable;e. Provide guidance and support for the effective use of behavioral support tools (SST forms, functional behavior assessment and behavior management plans).3. Provide training and support related to RTI tools; maintain records and ensure compliance with federal, state, local GCPS policies, and procedures and reporting requirements.4. Plan and deliver ongoing staff development for teachers and paraprofessionals with respect to academic and behavioral interventions and the RTI process and best practices.5. Provide observation and coaching to assist teachers and others implementing interventions with fidelity.6. Complete all processes in compliance with relevant federal and states laws, GCPS policies and procedures.7. Oversee data collection including screening and progress monitoring for interventions.8.
