Title: Press Set-up Operator

Shift: 1st Shift Monday through Friday | 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Starting Pay Range:** $19.00 - $25.00/per hour

General Overview

  • Press Operator/set-up position
  • Production equipment includes but not limited to:
  • OBI presses
  • Hydraulic units

Work Activities

  • Stamping press set-up and die maintenance to shape metal material to close tolerances
  • General and critical maintenance of all presses
  • Operation of presses in production
  • Ability to train new operators on the use of the equipment and key factors to maintain key quality attributes of the parts with a focus on a zero defect goal
  • Start machine, monitor operations, and record operational data
  • Visually measure and inspect completed workpieces to verify size and quality specifications
  • Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications
  • Report defects and operating difficulties to supervisor
  • Clean automatic press machines and perform die maintenance
  • Complete paperwork on inspection and operations
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Skillsets and Personal Characteristics

  • Use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, boring gauges)
  • Clear ability to understand and convert to metric from imperial and imperial to metric
  • Ability to use PLC interfaces to create part specific programs
  • Detail oriented
  • Team focused
  • Excellent attendance is a must
  • Must have reliable transportation

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma / GED
  • 2 years minimum working and operating OBI presses
