As a Learning Specialist in Individual Markets, you will play a key role in the planning, design, development, implementation, and continuous maintenance of Individual Markets training programs. You will be actively involved with the business management team to conduct ongoing training needs analyses and develop training solutions utilizing various delivery methods and assess the effectiveness of the solutions. You will research and recognize emerging patterns, summarize results, and provide recommendations for actions to address gaps in colleagues’ knowledge and/or skills.

You will:

  • Design new hire, cross training, and refresher programs, as well as other initiatives in response to changing needs for Individual Markets.

  • Deliver training using a variety of platforms that include but are not limited to virtual instructor-led classroom, e-learning, self-study, social media tools, video, conference calls, etc.

  • Engage with business partners to understand the training needs, maintain an appropriate level of organizational literacy, and contribute to the success of Individual Markets strategic priorities.

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific needs and gaps in knowledge and/or skills.

  • Apply training best practices based on adult learning theory that addresses all learning styles.

  • Consistently identify new training approaches, practices, and processes to improve efficiency of training development and delivery.

  • Partner closely with Instructional Technologists to develop digital training.

  • Provide training and mentoring to Individual Markets Learning Specialists in digital design techniques and tools.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Individual Learning & Development manager who, in turn, reports to the Head of Individual Markets Shared Services.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design and Technology, Training and Development, Communication, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices, industry training technologies used to deploy, maintain, and monitor learning to geographically dispersed customers.

  • Practical experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360 Suite, Microsoft 360, and Camtasia.

  • Relevant experience with developing and evaluating technical training materials.

  • Ability to facilitate training the creates clarity, and guides colleagues toward common ground and a shared understanding.

  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and business partners.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and an aptitude for public speaking.

  • Exceptional business communication skills, including ability to deliver messaging to key stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • Ability to develop cross-business connections and build collaborative relationships.

  • An aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

  • Guardian (or industry) products, systems and business expertise preferred but not required.

Travel

  • 0-10% Travel required for this position

Salary Range

$66,130.00 - $108,640.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
