As a member of the CTMS team, this position works with study team members, principal investigators and budget and coverage analyst to build studies and calendars in accordance with the protocol document and budgets in the CTMS system. Other duties for this position would include processing study modifications and providing support to the CTMS Suite of applications. This position also has other duties as assigned.

Job Specific Competencies

General - 40%

  • Build and configure studies within the CTMS systems.

  • Build and configure calendars within the CTMS systems.

  • Process modifications for studies within the CTMS systems.

· Serve as an expert or knowledge base for non-senior employees. Includes training, problem solving, mentoring, and project leadership.

· Expand knowledge of MD Anderson Regulatory processes and procedures to improve current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and their application within the Clinical Research Systems suite.

Study and Calendar Building - 40%

· Have advanced knowledge of study and calendar building in a CTMS system.

· Prepare, review, and serve as senior mentor for non-senior analyst staff with assignments.

· Process approved study modifications that may include base study information as well as calendar information.

· Assists management in aligning team efforts to institutional goals while meeting local, national, and federal requirements for reporting.

· Validate computed solutions against known solutions.

System Support - 10%

  • Provides support to the Clinical Research Analyst.

  • Serves as second level support for Clinical Research Application suite technical helpline and email.

  • Assist Clinical Research Analyst in defining and analyzing system related issues.

  • Ensures that documentation is clear and concise prior to escalating to the programming staff.

  • Facilitates communication and problem-solving activities between the Clinical Research Analyst and programming staff for issues and errors that occur in the clinical research system suite.

Data Analysis / Integration / Migration / Validation - 10%

· Serve as knowledge base to the Clinical Research Analyst.

· Plays a key role in the integration of clinical and demographic data from various systems by validating the viability of the process for merging data, mapping data, testing for data quality, and report preparation needed for the project.

  • Provides expert support to clearly identify, isolate and resolve issues affecting data systems, data structures, and validate data entered as a whole or in part.

  • Provides summary reports, test plans including documentation and scenarios for quality assurance for study and calendar builds.

· Provides validated testing and documentation plans for study and calendar builds within the Clinical Research Systems application Suite against known business rules and business logic as needed.

  • Takes the lead in quality assurance testing and documentation under the guidance of the supervisor or manager.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree

Experience

Required: Five years of related business, project/process management experience to include three years query reporting experience. Advanced knowledge of Excel. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
