Responsibilities
Litigation Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of pleadings, motions, and other court documents for construction, eviction, commercial, and general litigation cases.
Coordinate with attorneys to gather evidence, legal research and information for trial preparation.
Assist in drafting and serving discovery requests and responses.
Prepare deposition summaries and trial binders.
Coordinate with experts, witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
Manage document production and electronic discovery processes.
Maintain litigation calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, and other appointments.
Assist in the preparation of settlement agreements and negotiation strategies.
Business/Corporate Responsibilities:
Assist in the review and drafting of construction contracts, leases, and other commercial agreements.
Conduct due diligence for commercial transactions, including title searches and property inspections.
Manage communication with clients, contractors, tenants, and other parties involved in construction and eviction matters.
Prepare and file mechanic's liens and other construction-related documents.
Assist in the resolution of contract disputes and payment issues.
Provide support during mediation and arbitration proceedings.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a paralegal, with a focus on construction, eviction, commercial, and general litigation.
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is desirable.
