The Lansing Board of Water & Light has an opening for a Grant Program Administrator with our Finance and Planning Department located in Lansing, MI.

Position Summary:

 

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Starting Salary Range:  $89,500. - $109,200.

 

Position Summary:

On behalf of the BWL, this position acts as the administrator for all BWL related grant funding opportunities.  Manages relationships with all internal stakeholders and external agencies throughout the entire grant process.

 

Essential functions:

  • Work independently, with BWL departments and with BWL's third-party consultant to research and identify available grant funding opportunities.
  • Evaluate available grant opportunities based on BWL priorities to determine BWL's readiness to apply and ability to receive funding.
  • Manage the grant acquisition process.
  • Coordinate with all necessary BWL departments and municipal stakeholder agencies to collect data and information for grant submission.
  • Responsible for writing, preparation, and submission of all grant opportunities.
  • Responsible for identifying relevant compliance requirements including IRA and other tax legislation provisions associated with grants, tax credits, and related funding sources.
  • Ensure each funding opportunity has the necessary processes and procedures in place to meet compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the liaison with BWL departments to understand special conditions and requirements associated with grant funding.
  • Serve as the liaison to BWL's third-party consultant on all grant-related matters.
  • Establish and maintain third-party relationships beneficial to the success of the overall program.
  • Monitor all activities associated with grant funding to ensure on-going compliance with regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Perform pre-and post-award management with accounting department including fund management, reimbursement requests, budget revisions, amendments, and closeouts.
  • Establish and maintain the grant's function including a framework and related workflows and processes.
  • Assist with filing all necessary post-grant paperwork to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders involved with grant planning and implementation.
  • Coordinates with project managers to ensure timeline completion of grant funding projects.
  • Function as project/program manager dependent on grant size and complexity.
  • Support business development and related strategies with emphasis on opportunities associated with grant funding.
  • Maintains a current awareness of changes or new Federal regulations; maintains familiarity with trends, issues, and advances in grants administration through periodic review of relevant journals or other literature; consults websites of professional organizations; readily accepts new responsibilities and assignments; and recognizes when help is needed by others and offers guidance and assistance.
  • Participates in the training of others as assigned in the grant writing process.
  • Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
