Overview:\
We are seeking a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional to
join our team. As a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional,
you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals
with intellectual disabilities. Your expertise and skills will
contribute to enhancing their quality of life and promoting their
independence.
Responsible for conduction developmental evaluations and therapy to
individuals who are receiving developmental disability rehabilitative
and habilitative services.\
Responsible for the implementation, and monitoring of all formal written
programs, and monitoring all informal services and supports identified
on the consumers Individual Support Plan (ISP)/ Individual
Implementation Plan (IPP).
Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelors degree (Human Services field preferred but
not required)
- 1 year experience working with persons with developmental
disabilities and/or a minimum of 240 hours of professionally supervised
experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
- State Background Check and criminal history must be passed at time of
hire.
- First Aid and CPR certified (training provided if needed).
- Valid Drivers license and working personal vehicle with current
insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Developmental Specialists must be able to preform the following duties:
- Work with interdisciplinary team to attain assessments and diagnostic
documents to determine assessed needs of each participant.
- Write comprehensive developmental assessment that reflect the current
status of participants
- Develop and implement program plans and objectives driven by the
participant\'s goals and assessed needs
- Write specific skill assessments that further assesses an area of
limitation, is related to goals on the ISP, and develops a baseline.
- Adjust program plans and objectives as needed and maintain adequate
and current case records;
- Participate in initial and ongoing training and supervision of Direct
Support Professionals in facilitation of developmental therapy.
- Provide supervision and scheduling for paraprofessional staff.
- Maintain exact billable hours for all participants and submit
accurate billing weekly.
Responsibilities:\
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for individuals with
intellectual disabilities\
- Provide direct support and assistance with activities of daily living
(ADLs)\
- Monitor and document vital signs, ensuring the health and well-being
of individuals\
- Assist with medication management and administration\
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
and reduce challenging behaviors\
- Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals,
families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care\
- Provide guidance and support in conflict management situations\
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for individuals\
- Promote socialization and community integration for individuals with
intellectual disabilities
Skills:\
- Strong knowledge and experience in senior care, childcare, or assisted
living settings\
- Ability to create effective care plans tailored to individual needs\
- Proficient in conducting vital sign assessments\
- Experience in direct support and assisting with ADLs\
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies\
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written\
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
