Job Opening: Application Development Engineering Spec

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Duties: The Application Development Engineering Specialists Guidewire Claim collaborate with others in the division to provide and maintain applications to meet business needs. This role is responsible for software design and development for complex and/or large-scale business solutions, providing technical guidance and leadership for specific applications. The specialists may perform various roles in the development of applications in any phase of the systems development life cycle. The specialists take a lead role on projects providing guidance and technical leadership to project resources for a specific application(s). Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced technologists. Analyzes system problems and recommends alternatives for resolution. Recommends opportunities to improve system effectiveness and efficiency. Work in a Java, Single Page Applications, Cloud Computing (AWS and GCP), client/server, business intelligence, and/or web environment for internally built applications or vendor packaged applications. Job Requirements: Position requires bachelor\'s degree in computer engineering, computer science, technology, or related field with 5 years of experience. Additionally, position requires 5 years of progressive experience in application development and systems design; 5 years of experience in JAVA/J2EE utilizing web services technologies; 1 year of experience in Guidewire Claim experience; 1 year of experience as a Technical Project Lead utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies; and 2 years of experience in a property and casualty insurance environment supporting claims processing computer systems. Alternatively, the employer will accept a master\'s degree in computer engineering, computer science, technology, or related field with 2 years of experience. Additionally, the position requires 2 years of progressive experience in application development and systems design; 2 years of experience in JAVA/J2EE utilizing web services technologies; 2 years of experience in Guidewire Claim experience; 2 years of experience as a Technical Project Lead utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies; 2 years of experience in a property and casualty insurance environment supporting claims processing computer systems.
