JOB SUMMARYAs a Loan Processor for NeighborWorks Community Partners this position works directly with our homebuying customers to help navigate them through the mortgage lending process. You will act as a liaison between the client, Homeownership and Lending Teams to ensure a successful, helpful, and friendly home buying experience. This role will gather and analyze financial information from clients for the purpose of determining qualifying status for mortgage loans. It will provide clients with applications, interviews for routine loans or to obtain additional information, and set up appointments with Loan Officers or Homeownership Counselors. Your customer service expertise and financial background will allow you to help families purchase homes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPositively impact the customer experience, while maintaining frequent communication and providing exceptional customer service to homebuyers. Leverage strong interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact, to inform and educate others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.Maintain ongoing communication with NCP Homeownership and Lending staff throughout the entire loan process.Process applications and verify accuracy for mortgage loans, conduct loan interviews with members when necessary. Follow‐up with customers to obtain any documentation.Return calls and voicemails within a 24-hour business period.Provide all applicable disclosures for both fixed‐ and variable‐rate loans.Calculate closing costs and provide a good faith estimate for closing costs to customers.Process loan to include verification of employment, deposit accounts, and all liabilities to prepare application of verified information.Order and check credit report to determine credit worthiness of applicant based on industry standards for collateral/equity value.Approve or deny loan applications under authority defined by policy / program requirements.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE1-2 years of experience processing loans required, preferably in a financial institution.High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESProficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent customer service, and strong oral and written communication skills.Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-taskWorking knowledge of real estate documentation, underwriting policies, compliance, and proceduresMust possess strong basic math skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts, discounts, percentages, interest, etc.Must possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to learn and proficiently use a variety of software programs/platforms such as EnCompass, SalesForce, Freddie Mac Loan Product Advisor (LPA) etc.Normal Office EnvironmentWe are an equal employment opportunity employer.
