As part of the Division of Operations, Clearance Verification Unit you will be responsible for receiving and data entering clearance requests into a statewide database. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 3, your responsibilities will include receiving, reviewing, and verifying results, as well as issuing clearance verification for Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR). You will provide information to callers regarding clearance verification applications or determinations while treating each call as confidential and adhering to Child Protective Services Law (CPSL). You will perform search and verification functions by checking information in the computer files and following current verification guidelines to determine if an applicant is named as a perpetrator of a founded or indicated report of child abuse in the PA Department of Human Services (DHS) statewide database registry. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Training is (5) days per week in the office for (12) weeks followed by being in the office for (1) week every (4) to (5) weeks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.

Legal Requirement: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
