The Restorative Aide works with nursing staff to develop, implement, and monitor restorative treatment plans for residents to ensure residents are at optimal level of functioning. Works closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive all necessary services. Completes all required documentation.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Restorative Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Assesses residents for accurate Restorative treatment programs.

  • Collaborates daily with Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists and MDS/Restorative Nurse.

  • Encourages residents to socialize and participate in activities.

  • Assesses, evaluates and reports on residents progress.

  • Completes all required documentation accurately and timely.

  • Monitors use of all adaptive equipment and effectiveness.

  • Participates in staff development and conducts in-services as needed.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

  • Completion of an approved CNA program.

  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques in administering restorative treatments.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a long term or rehabilitative care center.

  • Able to lift 50lbs.

  • Current with all Continuing Education (CE) requirements.

  • Perform clinical care professionally.

  • Serve as patient advocate and role model to other Team Members.

  • Deliver patient care in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Ability to effectively work on a multidisciplinary team.

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Long-term care and rehabilitation facility experience.

  • Prior work experience with geriatric and disabled populations.

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish).

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Certified Nursing Aide.
