The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of the New York State Social Studies Learning Standards and must possess valid New York State certification in the subject area (Social Studies Grades 7-12). In addition, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate teaching skills appropriate to the secondary level. The teacher employed in this position will provide direct instruction, prepare class materials, evaluate student progress, communicate with parents and other district employees, write and direct learning activities, and provide other supervision and instructional services normally associated with the position of teacher. Technology integration and differentiated instruction are required.
