The Community Engagement Director advances the mission of the Rape Recovery Center through the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, program management, budget oversight, and supervision of the prevention, marketing, and outreach programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring that all communities are aware of the resources the Rape Recovery Center provides and a mission to prevent sexual violence. The Community Engagement Director will collaborate with other agency directors to review, evaluate, and implement program adjustments, fostering continuous quality improvement for the agency. This position will ensure that agency services are responsive to survivors and the community at large and comply with laws, regulations, and grant requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of the RRC's prevention, marketing and outreach programs ensuring accessible and consistent services under the Utah Standards of Care for Rape Crisis Centers.  

  • Manage departmental budget.

  • Assist with departmental and agency-wide strategic planning and visioning.

  • Build collaborative relationships with staff, volunteers, and community members.

  • Ensure that community engagement services meet requirements set forth by the Utah Confidential Communication Act.

  • Provide supervision to staff, interns, and volunteers and develop appropriate training.

  • Assist the Development Team with grant management, writing grant goals, and reporting on outputs and outcomes.

``` - Collaborate with academic institutions to guide recruitment for the Community Engagement Internship Program. 

  • Ensure responsiveness to the community and partners while complying with laws, regulations, and grant requirements.

  • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner including at public-facing events, media coverage, and others as assigned.

     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social work, or related field or a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a related field 

  • Proven public health, nonprofit administration, and trauma-informed experience. 

  • Proven education, communication skills, and relationship management experience.

  • Proven leadership skills with an ability to supervise, train, and assess progress.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master's degree in public health, public adminis tration, social work, human services or a related field.

  • A strong understanding of social justice, sexual and domestic violence service delivery.

  • Bilingual/Multilingual.

     

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER

- - The employee must complete all new hire paperwork by the end of the day on the first workday.

- The employee must complete a criminal background check. - The operations team will provide instructions on obtaining the background check. - Part of this process requires uploading a state-issued ID and scheduling an appointment with the Department of Public Safety to process physical fingerprints. - Please note a 2-3 week turnaround time as fingerprint appointments (subject to COVID safety protocols as determined by DPS) are not immediately available.  - Employees/Staff Members of the RRC can only be alone with clients once the background check is received and reviewed for risk.  - The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification and submit it within 120 days. - The employee agrees to a probationary period of 90 days from the first day of working in the new position. After 90 days, the employee will rece ve a detailed evaluation of their progress.  - Employees must comply with the flu and COVID-19 vaccination policy.  - Embrace the mission and commit to the values of RRC including anti-racism.
