Job Description Summary

The Lead MR Applications/Recon Engineer serves a key technical role within the MR Applications & IQ team to translate the pipeline of advanced clinical MR application prototypes into product-quality solutions by developing state-of-the-art enabling software technology, with a focus on advanced software reconstruction and artificial intelligence methods that form the basis for the next-generation MR Scanner.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with a cross functional team of engineers, scientists, clinical managers and product owners to translate high-level MR application and workflow product needs that demand new software capabilities into component-level requirements.

  • Work as an embedded member of a software Engineering team in the Agile scrum team framework to help deliver new applications feature content prioritized by programs. Develop and integrate software components into the system in accordance with the software development policies and procedures.

  • Application design, implementation, and feasibility testing in a clinical environment.

  • Transform prototype applications into product-quality components by optimizing for image quality, processing speed, re-use, and software lifecycle management.

  • Develop and integrate software components into the system in accordance with the software development policies and procedures.

  • Document requirements, designs, verifications and other key development activities in accordance with established GE Healthcare and local quality processes.

  • Anticipate and define MR software infrastructure requirements of pre-NPI and advanced technology development (ATD) applications in development by the extended team; help to design and build enabling software components to retire clinical and technical risk as early as possible in the development cycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or Physics.

  • 3 years' relative work experience or relative research experience (including Ph.D training) in MR reconstruction

  • 3 years' experience in MR research and Application development.

  • 3 years' experience in Object Oriented Design and Development, C++ and Python.

  • Demonstration of strong analytical, problem solving, and team work skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ph.D. Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or Physics.

  • Familiarity with GE Orchestra Reconstruction environment.

  • 3 years' experience in Machine Learning development libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing techniques, algorithms and mathematical transforms.

  • Familiarity with Linux based programming on X86 systems.
