POSITION: Software Engineer/Developer II, IT003, 100%, Academic Staff, Renewable, 12-month Appointment, one vacancy This position is eligible for hybrid work consideration. Currently eligibility requires residency in one of the following states: Wisconsin or Minnesota upon hire. POSITION SUMMARY: Designs, develops, tests, debugs, operates, and troubleshoots software and applications to support information technology business operations. UW-STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES: - Reviews application design specifications, codes new applications, and makes enhancements to existing applications. - Tests and debugs programs, and prepares systems test data. - Prepares program documentation and training requirements. - Develops or modifies technical specifications for moderately complex projects using disciplined software development practices. - Prepares detailed system design specifications for system integration and upgrades. - Maintains and troubleshoots applications, systems, or websites. - Implements data structure and systems performance strategies. Other Duties: Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned. Other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: 4+ years of experience as an application developer in a professional work environment OR bachelor\'s degree in computer science or related field and 2+ years of experience This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.
