Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator II to support the Rutgers-Eagleton Cyber Civics Initiative for the Eagleton Institute of Politics. The focus of Rutgers Eagleton Cyber-Civics Initiative lies in its transformative vision - to revitalize our national political landscape from one laced with division to an engaged and participatory community. The primary goal is to educate and inform young people about the essence of American democracy, emphasizing their role as responsible citizens in preserving and advancing it, particularly through active participation in civic discourse and process. Utilizing technology, we will create captivating narratives and foster interactive forums, both online and offline, to engage a broader and more participatory audience.Among the key duties of the position are the following: - Responsible for supporting CYPP's role in the Rutgers-Eagleton Cyber Civics Initiative, including working with the Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience to recruit paid student interns, develop a social media content strategy for the program, developing partnerships inside Rutgers for greater engagement, supporting social media/advertising efforts, and developing processes for evaluating and broadening engagement.
- Supports and organizes the expansion of the Initiative's programs and helps build relationships with local, state, and national nonprofits to further expand nation-wide programming.
- Identifies and compiles key benchmarks for engagement, including social media analytics, and in-person engagement.
- Amplify non-partisan messages of other organizations (internal and external) sharing the Initiative's mission and core values of enhancing youth civic engagement and participation.
- On occasion, all members are asked to participate in Institute-wide and/or cross-team projects.

Minimum Education and Experience | - Must have at least a BA in political science, communications, or a related field, and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program coordination, organization, facilitation, and social media promotion/outreach.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | - Requires good communication and interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
- Must be very organized, efficient, detail oriented and self-driven.
- Experience with social media outreach required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment | - Eagleton offices are located within a historic building with no elevator.
- The duties of this position regularly involve navigating stairs numerous times a day.
