The American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) credential is an advanced-level professional designation for medical specialist who work in Electrodiagnostic (EDX) medicine. CNCTs elicit the pertinent history and perform the physical examination to define the clinical problem and differential diagnoses. These technologists perform a logical sequence of electrophysiologic tests and interpret the data to arrive at the probable diagnosis. Candidates for the CNCT must meet educational and other requirements and must also pass an exam.
