The Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA), Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) is an entry-level certification for behavior technicians. Individuals who hold the ABAT credential practice under the ongoing supervision of a licensed or certified professional within the scope of Applied Behavior Analysis. The ABAT has a working knowledge of autism and related disorders as well as the principles of working with individuals diagnosed with autism and related disorders. The ABAT implements the treatment plan including the mechanisms and strategies of effectively supporting individuals to learn new behaviors and skills. Candidates for the ABAT credential must meet educational, training, and experiential requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.
