Our Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG™) certification is a training level certification designed for interpreters who are seasonal, temporary, new hires, or volunteers just starting in the field or for those who would like a refresher on the fundamentals. If you conduct tours, demonstrations, lead hikes and other recreational activities, present living history programs, etc. then this is the certification to start with. Since this is a training level certification, you must complete a 32-hour course.

  2. The certification has an education level of an Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree or higher, but has a work experience requirement of less than 2 years of work experience.
  3. The certification has a work experience requirement of more than 2 years but does not require a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree.
