MedCA©s EKG Technician Certification shows the prospective employer and all stakeholders that the individual has met MedCA©s requirements to be certified and passed the MedCA Certification exam. An EKG Technician is a member of the health care team whose primary duty is the taking of EKGs on patients. An EKG measures the electrical activity of the heart and can be used to diagnose a range of many heart diseases. It is the responsibility of the EKG Technician to know the laws and policies concerning a EKG Technician's scope of practice in the state and facility in which they work.
