Requirements to obtain a United States Coast Guard license as a Chief Engineer - Uninspected Fishing Industry Vessels include 1,440 days at sea with 360 days as a Licensed Engineer and 950 days on Motor Vessels. Other requirements include passing a written exam, a physical exam, and completion of a first aid course and a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course within the past 12 months.
