License: Elementary Education K-6 Teacher

Elementary School Teachers teach students basic academic, social, and other formative skills in public or private schools at the elementary level. Note: Elementary Education K-6 has taken the place of the Early Childhood P-4 Teacher license. Spring of 2015 was the last time Institutions could take students into the Early Childhood P-4 program. The Early Childhood P-4 Teacher license will cease to be issued after current students matriculate through the programs. Requirements: 1) Must have a Bachelor's degree with 18 semester hours of elementary education and specified requirements. 2) Must successfully complete the required criminal background check. 3) Must secure a signed recommendation by the Institutional Certifying Officer. 4) Other requirements/provisions as specified by State law or State Board of Education. Examinations and fees: All teachers must have successfully completed the following testing: Praxis $135.00, License Renewal (every 5 years): $75.00
