Pedorthists are health care professionals who provide or manage therapeutic footwear, foot orthoses for use at the ankle or below, or footwear modified for therapeutic purposes; based on clinical assessment, technical judgement, and with an order from a health care practitioner authorized by law to write an order for a pedorthic device. Requirements: 1) Must possess a high school diploma or GED. 2) Must successfully complete an approved pedorthic education program. 3) Must successfully complete the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prothetics and Pedorthics (ABCOPP) Certification examination or equivalent as required by the Advisory Board. 4) Must complete 22 hours of continuing education biennially. Examination required. License fee (initial and renewal): $300.00 (every 2 years)
