Athletic Trainers evaluate, advise, and treat athletes to assist recovery from injury, avoid injury, or maintain peak physical fitness. An individual who plans to practice as an athletic trainer must secure a license prior to practicing in Arkansas. Requirements: 1) Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 2) Must meet other curriculum and internship requirements as specified by the board. 3) Must pass an examination for licensure as designated by the board to determine minimum competency in athletic training. 4) Must provide notarized proof of employment, performance of duties, and supervision. 5) Applicants partially or fully practicing in a non-clinical setting must submit a Physician Direction Form.
