An applicant for licensure must meet the eligibility requirements outlined below: Successful completion of a physical therapist assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA); Please note that recent graduates of physical therapist assistant schools are eligible for a temporary permit to practice under supervision. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapist Assistant Examination (NPTAE) administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
