In order to be eligible for Connecticut licensure, an applicant must meet the following requirements: Hold an associate's degree in occupational therapy assisting from a program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA); Please note that recent graduates of occupational therapy assistant schools are eligible for a temporary permit to practice under the supervision of a Connecticut licensed occupational therapist. Satisfactorily completed at least eight (8) weeks of supervised field work experience at a recognized educational institution or a training program approved by the educational institution where the academic requirements were met; and Successfully completed the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification examination.
