License: Engineer Intern

Engineers in Idaho are licensed by the Idaho Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. To be licensed as an Engineer Intern, the applicant must: 1.) Graduate with a bachelor's degree in engineering or in a related field with coursework required by the board; 2.) Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam. Examinations vary by discipline and include: Electrical & Computer, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Agricultural, and more. However, Idaho does not license engineers by discipline. All licenses are for "Engineer" regardless of the exam taken for licensing purposes. Engineers working for licensed engineers or whose work is only for the internal use of a corporation or company do not need to be licensed. Term: Licenses are valid for two years before renewal.
