Dental Hygienists must be licensed by the State Board of Dentistry. Applicants for licensure must: 1.) Graduate from a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA); 2.) Pass written and clinical exams approved by the Board of Dentistry. Additional license endorsements can be attained as an Extended Access Dental Hygienist and /or an Extended Access Restorative Dental Hygienist. Term: Licenses are renewed bi-annually.
