In order to obtain certification, the candidate must: Have passed a respiratory care practitioner licensing or certification examination approved by the board. Submit proof of the candidate's graduation from a board-approved school or program of respiratory care, or completion of a United States military training program in respiratory care, or completion of sufficient postsecondary education to be eligible for certification by a board-approved national respiratory care practitioner organization. Not have been convicted of a crime nor have been subject to disciplinary sanctions that would interfere with the ability to carry out professional duties. Pay all application and examination fees.
