In order to obtain a veterinary technician's license, candidates must: Be at least 18 years of age. Have successfully completed four years of high school education or its equivalent. Have successfully completed an approved program of veterinary technology. Successfully pass the board-administered examination. Have not been convicted of a crime that would have a direct bearing on the ability to carry out professional duties. Pay all application and examination fees.
