GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION One qualified and licensed by the Board to diagnose his patients and to treat those of his patients diagnosed as having diseases or disorders relating to subluxation of the articulations of the human spine and its adjacent tissues by indicated adjustment or manipulation of those subluxation and by applying methods of treatment designed to augment those adjustments or manipulation. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum of two (2) years pre-chiropractic education at an accredited college or university, in addition to four (4) years of graduate training at a Chiropractic college which is fully accredited by the CCE. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS For applications, contact the regulatory agency. Examinations are schedule at least once annually, or as determined by the board. Practical demonstration of clinical competency, with a minimum of 75% required. $200.00 application and examination fee. Retake fee is $150.00. Currently Parts I, II, and III of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) examination is required. Following the July, 1996 Kentucky licensure examination the Board will require Part IV of the NBCE examination (practical) in lieu of the state examination. There are no age, residency nor health requirements. Applicants must furnish evidence of good character and reputation. License are renewed annually by March 1, with a renewal fee of $100.00 for residents and $60.00 for non-residents. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Twelve (12) hours of Post-graduate work and/or twelve (12) hours of instruction (2 days required), approved by the board, and both must be obtained in the year preceding renewal. In addition to the 12 hour continuing education requirements, there is now a two hour AIDS education requirement. This two hours of AIDS training must be at a Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources approved program.
