Commercial Applicator License: License must be obtained by small independent commercial applicators who apply only general-use pesticides, or by employees of larger concerns who will be directly supervised by certified commercial applicators when applying restricted-use pesticides. Financial responsibility is required, as set by the Department of Food and Agriculture and approved by the Pesticide Board. Private Certification: Certification must be obtained by all those who produce any plant or animal product for sale, and who use restricted or state-limited use pesticides on their own land, or land owned or rented by their employers. Commercial Certification: Applicants applying for commercial certification must have at least 2 years relevant experience. Certification must be obtained by anyone who uses or supervises users of restricted or state-limited use pesticides for any purpose on the land of another individual. Liability insurance required as set by the Department of Food and Agriculture and approved by the Pesticide Board. Exam required. Continuing education required. Fees required.
