A prevention specialist must obtain 2,000 hours, full- or part-time providing Substance Use Disorder Prevention services at a program licensed by the State of Michigan as a substance use disorder services provider. In addition, 120 hours of education and supervision must be obtained. Finally, a prevention specialist must pass an examination. The fee for this license is S150.00.
