To receive the Certified Clinical Supervisor certification, an applicant must currently hold the CADC, CAADC, CCJP, CCDP, or CCDP-D to be able to apply. 10,000 hours of clinical counseling experience (which includes 4,000 hours of supervisor experience) is required, as is 30 contact hours in clinical supervision with a minimum of four hours of education in Counselor Development, Professional & Ethical Standards, Program Development & Quality Assurance, and Performance Evaluation and Administration. Additionally, 200 hours of direct supervision specific to the IC&RC/CCS domains is required, and an applicant must take and pass the IC&RC/CCS, Clinical Supervisor examination. Once these qualifications have been met, an applicant must submit an application to the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals along with a $150.00 application fee.
