The license is based upon certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). For Licensure an applicant should be currently certified as a diplomat in acupuncture by NCCAOM. An application is also submitted to the Acupuncturist Advisory Committee for approval and pays the appropriate fee.
