<h3>Occupational Description</h3><br>A licensed Pharmacist in Nebraska can interpret and fill medical orders, compound and dispense prescription drugs and devices, perform drug product selection and drug use review, and provide patient counseling. Pharmacists can also administer drugs and devices, and can provide pharmaceutical care through agreements with physicians.<br><h3>Licensure Requirements</h3><br>Prior to submission of an application for a Nebraska Pharmacist license, individuals must have successfully completed the NAPLEX and MPJE examinations with scores of at least 75. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy determines eligibility to take the examinations. Licensure may be obtained by one of the following methods: Examination- If the applicant is taking the NAPLEX for Nebraska and taking the Nebraska MPJE; Score Transfer- If the applicant is taking the NAPLEX for another state and having his or her score transfered to Nebraska, and has taken the Nebraska MPJE; Reciprocity- If the applicant has taken the Nebraska MPJE and has requested the Licensure Transfer Document from NABP. Once the applicant has met the examination requirement, they will need to submit the Nebraska application along with the required fee and any supporting documents. Foreign Pharmacy Graduates- Foreign pharmacy graduates seeking Nebraska licensure must obtain the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Certification (FPGEC) through NABP, and pass the required examinations. Once the applicant has met these requirements, they will need to submit the Nebraska application along with the required fee and any supporting documents.<br><h3>Fees</h3><br>Initial License Fee- $178.00, or $44.50 if initial license is obtained within 6 months prior to the next expiration date.<br><h3>Renewal</h3><br>Renewal is required biennially by January 1 of each even-numbered year. The renewal fee is $178.00. Thirty hours of acceptable continuing education, earned during the preceding 24-month period prior to the license renewal, are required to qualify for renewal.
