<p>Asbestos Project Designers conduct, plan, design, and develop procedures for asbestos abatement projects, or provide other substantive direction or criteria for asbestos abatement projects</p> <p><strong>Legislation:</strong> NH RSA 141-E; Administrative Rules Chapter Env-A 1800</p> <p><strong>Certification Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must apply for a certificate in compliance with Env-A 1810.18</li> <li>Provide documentation of attendance and completion of an approved abatement project designer course</li> <li>Provide documentation of passing the course with a score of 70 percent or greater on the written examination</li> <li>Provide documentation the applicant has:</li> <ul> <li>At least 12 months experience in asbestos abatement fields and has a Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental science, biological or physical science, or a closely related field; or</li> <li>At least 12 months experience in asbestos abatement fields and is a registered architect or registered engineer; or</li> <li>At least two years of employment experience in asbestos abatement fields including experience in asbestos abatement design</li> </ul> </ul> <p><strong>Examination:</strong> Written examination consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions, attaining a score of 70 percent or greater</p> <p><strong>Continuing Education:</strong> An annual eight-hour refresher course and passing a written examination of 25 multiple-choice questions with a score of 70 percent or greater are required</p> <p><strong>Fees:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certification: $200</li> <li>Annual renewal: $200</li> <li>Certificate replacement: $20</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reciprocity:</strong> Permitted if standards for licensure are substantially equivalent to those of New Hampshire</p> <p>revised Jan 2018</p>
