JOB DESCRIPTION: A mine foreman coordinates the activities of personnel, inspects mines, and instructs supervisors to take necessary measures to improve production and working conditions. A mine foreman also directs the opening of new underground rooms and passageways and the construction and installation of equipment as designated by the mine superintendent. Mine foremen in the mining industry often concentrate on one area such as coal, copper, or metallic ore mining.
