TATTOO PROFESSIONAL<br><br>A person who employs any method of placing designs, letters, figures, symbols, cosmetics or other marks under the skin of a person with ink or color by aid of needles or instruments under the auspices of a licensed tattoo studio. <br><br>REQUIREMENTS: <br>Must train for one year under a licensed tattoo artist who has practiced under a Tennessee licensee for three years and satisfy the education and examination requirements. (A temporary license can be issued under appropriate circumstances to a person licensed in another state.)<br><br>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: <br>Successfully complete the Alliance of Professional Tattooist course in sterilization, a local or state program in sterilization offered by the Health Department, or a course approved by the local health department. <br><br>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS: <br>Pass an examination administered by a local health department. <br><br>RENEWAL:<br>Annual renewal is required.
