MEDICAL X-RAY OPERATORS<BR><BR> Operates x-ray equipment in a medical doctor's office limited to one or more of the following specialties: chest, extremities, skull (AP and lateral skull only), sinuses, or lumbar spine (AP and lateral lumbar spine only). May perform any and all radiographic procedures or functions in a physician's office that are within the American Society of Radiologic Technologists' scope of practice for radiographer if fully certified. (There are several exceptions to the licensing requirement including licensed medical doctors and interns, students enrolled in required courses, and graduates awaiting examination.)<BR><BR>REQUIREMENTS:<BR>At least 18 years of age, free from physical or mental impairment which would interfere with the performance of duties or otherwise constitute a hazard to the health and safety of patients, high school diploma or GED <BR><BR>AND EITHER<BR>Qualify for full certification by holding certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists <BR><BR>OR<BR>Qualify for limited certification by satisfying education and training and examination requirements.<BR><BR>EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:<BR>Completion of the basic course (50 hours) in radiology and the specialty course (10 hours) in each specialty area for which certification is requested, and of the required (60) hours of supervised clinical training for the same areas.<BR><BR>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:<BR>A written core examination and the limited scope examination in each desired specialty area. <BR><BR>CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:<BR>Complete 20 hours of radiological related continuing education in courses approved by the Board during each two-year period.<BR><BR>RENEWAL:<BR>Required every two years contingent on satisfying the continuin
