License: DENTAL HYGIENIST

A dental hygienist is an individual who practices dental hygiene. Dental hygiene is the performance of educational, preventive or therapeutic dental services. See s. 447.01(3), Wis. Stats., for a more comprehensive definition. Unless a person is licensed to practice dental hygiene under Chapter 447, Wis. Stats., he or she may not: practice or offer to practice dental hygiene; represent himself or herself to the public as a dental hygienist; or use in connection with his or her name, any title or description that may convey the impression that he or she is a dental hygienist.
