Description of Occupation: Attorneys advise individuals and businesses on legal matters. They consult with clients to determine the details of programs, advise them of the law, and suggest action that might be taken. They also study and interpret laws, draft legal papers, and represent clients in courts of law. Requirements for Licensing: No person may practice law in the Commonwealth unless that person has been admitted to practice. The requirements for admission are set forth in 1 Commonwealth Code, Division 3, Chap. 6. Examinations: Must take and pass MBE and MPRE bar examination administered by the CNMI Supreme Court. The exam consists of a multiple choice section, known as the Multi - State, and an essay portion. Application and Fees: Fee to take bar exam $250.00. For practising attorney $300.00.
