Description of Occupation: A Dental Hygienist, working under the general direction of a dentist, provides direct patient care by removing deposits and stains from patients' teeth, exposing and developing dental x-ray film, and performing various other preventative and therapeutic services. They also help people develop and maintain good oral health by instructing individuals and groups in proper oral hygiene.Requirements for Licensing: A person is eligible to take an examination for a license to practice as a dental hygienist in the CNMI who is: Of good moral character, is lawfully entitled to remain and work in the CNMI, is a graduate of a school or college program in dental nursing/hygiene, approved by the Board, and is physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of a dental hygienist.Examinations: Endorsement.
