Persons applying for statewide Journeyman examination must demonstrate a minimum of 8,000 hours of experience that shows you have the necessary qualifications, training and technical knowledge to install electrical wiring, apparatus or equipment, light, heat or power. An applicant for a statewide Journeyman Electrician examination may substitute one year of education in an approved electrical curriculum or apprenticeship program for one thousand hours of electrical experience for a maximum of two thousand hours of the eight thousand hours total required. The applicant must provide appropriate documentation, subject to the approval of the Board, of said education or apprenticeship program.
