A Backflow Preventer Testing Technician performs all tests of the mechanical devices/assemblies of backflow and backpressure devices and is responsible for the competence and accuracy of all tests and reports. An "approved backflow preventer" means any permanent mechanical device or combination of permanent mechanical devices, of whatever material, which, after installation according to the state plumbing regulations, acts to prevent a reversal of the normal directional flow of potable water within the piping system in which it is installed. Requirements: Must Complete a 40 hour backflow preventer testing technician training certification course. Must pass a written examination administered by the Arkansas Department of Health. Written Examination administered by the Arkansas Department of Health. No License fees.
