License Application Fee: $450. Initial License Fee: Sole Owner $200 for 2 years. Non-sole owner $350 for 2 years. Experience Requirement: At least four (4) years journey level experience; must be at least 18 years of age. Exam Requirement: Business/law exam and trade exam. Exam Frequency: Computerized exams given daily at 20 sites throughout the state. Re-exam Fee: $100 Additional License Requirements: Fingerprinting, license bond(s), proof of workers' compensation coverage or exemption therefrom. Renewal Period: Active Timely renewal: Sole owner $450 for 2 years; Non-sole owner $700 for 2 years. Delinquent renewal: Sole owner $675 for 2 years; Non-sole owner $1050 for 2 years. Inactive timely renewal: Sole owner $300 for 4 years. Non-sole owner $500 for 4 years. Inactive delinquent renewal: Sole owner $450 for 4 years. Non-sole owner $750 for 4 years.
