Barber instructors must be licensed by the Idaho Board of Barber Examiners at the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses. All applicants for a Barber Instructor's license must: 1) Hold a current barber license issued by the board; 2) Have satisfactorily completed a minimum six (6) month course of barber instructing as a student in a properly licensed barber college; 3) Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an apprentice in a licensed barber college, or as a barber in a licensed establishment, within the last three (3) years; 5) Successfully pass an exam. Term: Licenses are renewed annually.
