Anyone that practices cosmetology, nail technology, haircutting, esthetics, or electrology must be licensed in the State of Idaho. In order to obtain a license, an applicant must: 1) Be at least sixteen and one-half years of age; 2) Complete two years of high school or the equivalent; 3) Complete an approved course or an apprenticeship in cosmetology or manicuring; 4) Pass a written and practical exam. Term: Licenses are renewed annually.
