License: HVAC Contractor

Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) workers must be licensed in the State of Idaho. There are three certificates of competency available to HVAC workers: apprentice registration, journeyman license, and contractor’s license. HVAC Contractor applicants must: 1.) Submit proof of a minimum of two (2) years of experience as an HVAC Journeyman; 2.) Pass an exam. Specialty licenses are available in the areas of: Hearth, Fuel Gas Piping, Waste Oil Heating, and LP Limited Heating. Term: Licenses are valid for three years before renewal.
